Amadou Kienou
A master of the djembe and several traditional African instruments, he blends traditional rhythms with contemporary expression. Based in Toronto since 2008, he is also an educator, choreographer, and workshop leader who shares the universal language of rhythm with audiences around the world.
Grand River Chinese School Dance Troupe
The Grand River Chinese School Dance Troupe is made up of students studying Chinese folk dance through the Grand River Chinese School. The troupe has been performing at this multicultural festival for over 15 years.
KW Sentro Choir
KW Sentro, also known as the Kitchener-Waterloo Centre for Filipino Canadian Music, Language, and Culture, is a charitable organization dedicated to music, culture, and community programming. Through musical, linguistic, and cultural education, it works to reconnect Filipino children, youth, and adults with their heritage. KW Sentro supports intergenerational learning while celebrating Filipino-Canadian identity in the Waterloo Region.
Romania Folk Club
Founded in 2018, the Romania Folk Club teaches Romanian traditions, music, songs, and dance to young Romanian-Canadians in the Waterloo Region. Through festivals and community performances, the group works to keep Romanian folk culture alive across generations. Today, children and parents proudly perform together, celebrating the rich traditions of Romania.
Gerima & Friends
Gerima & Friends is a musical collective from Waterloo Region, Toronto, and beyond, united by a passion for djembe drumming. Through powerful rhythms and energetic performance, the group invites audiences into an experience of movement, connection, and cultural expression. Their music celebrates joy, self-expression, and the transformative power of rhythm.

We Are Kitchener group celebrates belonging, resilience, and hope. Inspired by her family's journey of building new roots in Kitchener, she created this piece to connect communities and highlight the strength, diversity, and shared future that make our city thrive.

Ethiopia & Eritrea Dancers
The Ethiopia & Eritrea Dancers showcase the rich cultural traditions of Ethiopia, a country home to more than 80 nationalities and diverse artistic expressions. Their performance highlights the vibrant spirit of Ethiopian dance, including the iconic Eskista, known for its dynamic shoulder movements and rhythm. Through music and movement, they celebrate the depth and diversity of East African culture.
The Kween Company & Workshop
The Kween Company uses dance to promote diversity, cultural celebration, and community connection. This interactive workshop introduces vibrant Caribbean dance styles while exploring the cultural heritage behind them. Led by Kween, the session encourages self-expression, joyful movement, and shared celebration through dance.
MapuChile
MapuChile is a Kitchener-based Chilean folk dance group dedicated to sharing the traditions of Chilean culture through music and dance. Their performances feature cueca and other traditional rhythms that reflect Chile’s history and spirit. Through vibrant costumes, storytelling, and energetic performance, MapuChile keeps Chilean folklore alive while connecting communities through culture.
Ubuntu Kids
The Ubuntu Kids Dance Group, part of the African Canadian Association of Waterloo Region and Area, brings together talented children and youth to celebrate culture through dance. Blending traditional African rhythms with modern movement, their performances tell stories of heritage, unity, and joy. Rooted in the spirit of Ubuntu — “I am because we are” — they inspire connection, identity, and togetherness.

Mariachi Salinas
Mariachi Salinas is a multicultural ensemble celebrating the richness of Mexican regional music in Canada. Featuring musicians from Mexico, El Salvador, Nicaragua, and Canada, the group blends diverse musical backgrounds into an authentic and inclusive mariachi experience. Through rancheras, boleros, and lively sones, they honor mariachi traditions while creating music that connects audiences across cultures.
Natalie and the Sarcastic Onions
Natalie and the Sarcastic Onions are a Southern Ontario band blending rock, pop, Latin, blues, and reggae into a distinctly Canadian sound. Led by First Nations artist Natalie Martin, the group is known for energetic live performances and genre-crossing original music. Returning to the KWMF stage, they will perform selections from their albums Satire and Onion World.
Momma's Kitchen
Momma’s Kitchen is Kitchener’s premier live party band, bringing high-energy performances, smooth harmonies, and feel-good vibes to every stage. Blending the best of ’90s and 2000s R&B and Hip Hop with live vocals and crowd-favourite hits, the band creates an unforgettable experience rooted in soul, nostalgia, and connection.
Inspired by the warmth of family gatherings and community cookouts, Momma’s Kitchen delivers more than a concert—it’s a celebration. Covering artists like Usher, Destiny's Child, Mary J. Blige, Nelly, and Aaliyah, their performances bring generations together through music,energy, and pure good vibes.
